Mei Timberlake

Intern

Hi! I’m Mei, and I’m pleased to have the opportunity to work with you as a clinical intern here at KTZA. I strongly believe in our capacities as human beings to heal and grow, and I have a great affinity for people. I aim to hold a grounded and generative space, which I see as ideal for facilitating change and healing. I view therapy as a collaborative process in which we work together to uncover the innate wisdom and resilience within and foster your own personal journey towards your vision of a healthy, fulfilling life.

I have a long history in substance misuse recovery as a community leader, mentor, and program developer. I am training in clinical mental health counseling with an additional concentration in trauma, and I integrate elements of Somatic Experiencing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, and trauma processing modalities such as EMDR. I’m happy to work with clients and couples of all backgrounds, though I have additional experience relevant to working with people who identify as Asian, having ADHD, or LGBTQIA2S+, including those in the process of transitioning or identifying as genderqueer. I look forward to meeting you and being part of your journey!
