Kyra Jackson
Agency Affiliated Counselor
My commitment to growth begins with the trust formed with children and adolescents in my
therapeutic space. I am committed to supporting children and adolescents by recognizing the
role that early relationships and emotional experiences play in development. Through my
experience working with children and adults with disabilities, I have fostered a strong
appreciation for the ways of communicating needs, strengths and emotions, often beyond
words.
I believe the most powerful way a child can often communicate is through play, behavior,
relationships with others, and interactions with objects. In my practice, I strive to honor these
forms of communications and draw from strong therapeutic influences such as Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and play-based therapeutic interventions. These therapeutic
influences allow flexibility, visibility, and acknowledgment of challenges with self-esteem, anxiety,
depression, and life-transitions.
My goal is to meet each child, adolescent, and family where they are developmentally or
emotionally, and work through a person-centered, strength-based, trauma informed perspective.
The priority in my space is always safety, trust, and true connection. Healing happens through
collaboration and utmost compassion. My passion will always be supporting children and
adolescents of all abilities to build emotional regulation and resilience to become the best versions of themselves throughout development.
