As a supervisor for our therapists, Josie Nickum is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and an approved supervisor in Washington State. Josie received her Masters in Education in School Counseling in 2016 and worked in schools and community mental health agencies before starting her own private practice. Her work with children and families in schools significantly informed her perspective on early trauma, attachment and working within community systems. She enjoys helping therapists grow their professional identity and learn skills to work with a diversity of clients to become the awesome therapists they want to be! Josie approaches her work with supervisees and clients from a relationally-driven perspective, yet uses a variety of evidence based techniques that are trauma and attachment oriented. This includes expertise in the areas of Internal Family Systems or parts work, Somatic techniques, EMDR, Collaborative Problem Solving and Family Systems. Outside of her work, Josie pursues training, consultation and restorative practices to energize her. Josie does not accept clients.
