Devan Martin

Agency Affiliated Counselor

Hello, my name is Devan. I view therapy as a space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with parts of your story that may have been overlooked, misunderstood, or shaped by survival. My work is grounded in trauma-informed care and future-focused goal setting, guiding an integrative approach that draws from narrative, attachment-based, emotion-focused, and skills-based frameworks. Our work together is always centered on what feels most supportive, meaningful, and aligned for you.

I’m especially interested in working with adults and adolescents navigating trauma, life transitions, depression, and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). I practice from a trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming perspective, bringing both lived experience and clinical training into the therapeutic space. My goal is to create an environment where clients feel safe to open up about difficult or uncomfortable topics, move at their own pace, and explore their experiences with honesty and care working toward ways of being that feel more authentic, grounded, and sustainable.

Before joining KZTA, I developed a diverse foundation across athletics, military service, and mental health care. I wrestled in college for two years in Iowa and served in the Army National Guard for six years, experiences that shaped my understanding of resilience, discipline, and teamwork. I later worked as a Rehabilitation Therapist in a psychiatric hospital and as a Behavioral Technician, supporting both adults and youth. In these roles, I helped individuals build practical daily living skills, strengthen coping strategies, and improve quality of life in ways that could be carried into everyday routines.
